We must have a theme, a goal, a purpose in our lives. If you don’t know where you’re aiming, you don’t have a goal. My goal is to live my life in such a way that when I die, someone can say, she cared. This is of course a beautiful goal which was set by the famous writer Mary Kay Ash. Each and every one of us should also set a goal in his or her life, whether it’s joining a sports team or being the president of a country. There are many different steps to achieve a goal. In my opinion the three most important are: Saying yes or no, never delay what needs to be done, and never give up.
Success depends on getting to say no without feeling guilty. You cannot get ahead with your own goals if you are always saying yes to someone else’s projects. You can only get ahead with your desired lifestyle if you are focused on the things that will produce that lifestyle. For example if your aiming to be the best football player in school, you can’t skip football practice because your friends want to hang out.
Tomorrow is often just another word for delay! Have you ever caught yourself saying these things, “My homework isn’t due tomorrow so why should I do it today” or "Next week, I won't have so many meetings at work and I can spend more time with my family then.” These are all bad examples for setting and achieving goals because tomorrow never seems to come. There will always be a reason why you can't do something you say you're going to do if you've been putting it off, so instead of postponing, why not work hard today so tomorrow you can play. This will help you achieve goals in a shorter period of time and will get you started on new goals.
