The title is somewhat difficult to understand, but give me a couple of paragraphs and you will understand why I chose this title.
The problem I would like to debate today is the threat of global warming. I’ve research this problem for about two weeks already. Do not get the wrong idea about this statement, I wanted to gather all the information I could to really give my opinion on this problem.
First off I think that global warming has been an issue since the 1960. The countless cold mines, wood burning and other fossil fuel that were used cause a dropped in the world’s climate. The temperatures in these years not as hot as today, yet the winters that followed were some of the worst that were ever recorded.
How is this connected to global warming? This is how; coal when burned releases carbon dioxide? Yes it does and most of the heat would dissipate among the atmosphere. But with poor management cities such as San Francisco, London, and Paris felt the smog that were choking their air quality.
But in the 1970’s new and improved appliances were making there way across the planet. Window rattlers (window mounted air-conditioners), Freon and other chemicals were being produced in these appliances.
In 1974 scientists warned that certain industrial chemicals, e.g., chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and to a lesser extent, halons and carbon tetrachloride, could migrate to the stratosphere. These harmful chemicals strip the thin layer of oxygen away, the ozone layer away.
With a hole above Antarctica the sizes of Antarctica people are wondering why the temperature is rising? This thin layer defenses us from so many bad items that come for the sun. Now to know that there is a hole in our defense allowing not only harmful UV-rays but the most important enemy HEAT.
To stop this problem the world produced the Montreal Protocol, officially the Protocol on Substances That Deplete the Ozone Layer, treaty signed on Sept. 16, 1987, at Montreal by 25 nations; 168...
