A Pack of Young Boys

LORD of The Flies

Boys will be boys! And in Lord of The Flies by William Golding that’s exactly what they were. This novel is about a pack of young boys whose plane got shot down on an island and there are no adults around. In the beginning of the story the boys tried to live by law and order but the chaos quickly began on the island.
One of the main characters of the story is Piggy. Piggy is a chubby young boy with asthma. Both of his parents died so he lives with his auntie who owns a sweet shop. Piggy is a well rounded person who is probably a cub scoot. In this book Piggy was pretty much the brains of the story. When the others didn’t know what to do or how to handle the situation, Piggy step up and came up with a plan.
Piggy was one of the first characters to be introduced. From the very beginning, he started to adapt to the situation so they can all survive on the island until they were rescued. His first major idea was to get the count shell and blow it so the others can here it and all gather around. He also came up with the idea to count all the boys and make laws so the situation wont get chaotic. Even though Piggy was the smart one, the others didn’t respect him because he was fat and had asthma. Piggy soon became the out cast that people took advantage of because his personality was so weak.
Another main character of the story is Ralph. He was also one of the first characters to be introduced. Ralph is completely different from Piggy. Ralph has blonde hair and is in shape for his age. Ralph dad is in the navy so he didn’t really freak out about being on the island because he kept believing his dad was going to come and rescue everyone. Ralph had more of a strong and demanding personality so a lot of the time Piggy idea’s seemed like Ralphs ideas.
When piggy and Ralph fount the count shell it was Ralph who blew the horn even though it was Piggy’s idea. So when the others came and saw Ralph with the shell it was a automatic sign of leadership....
