A Travel in My Country

Turkey is a beautiful country that resembles a paradise. There are a lot of places where you can feel relaxed and peaceful. My country sheltered many ancient civilizations in Anatolia at in the past. Therefore, you can easily see a historical place in every city in Turkey. If I invite someone who is from a foreign country, I want to show him or her several beauties in my country.
First of all, I would like to show him Ankara which is the capitol city of Turkey. I can show around everywhere in Ankara because I live in there. In the morning we go to “Anitkabir” which is the most important place in Ankara. Anitkabir is a big monument for our great leader Ataturk who was an outstanding soldier, a reformer, a smart statesman and a nation builder. He was the leader of “Turkish War of Independence”, and the founder of Turkish Republic. When he died in 1938, Anitkabir was built, and he was buried there. In Turkish “anit” means monument, and “kabir” means tomb, so Anitkabir is a portmanteau word. Last year about four million people visited Anitkabir. When we finished visiting Anitkabir, I will show him another beautiful place “Atakule”.
At noon we will go to Atakule because the street near Atakule is so beautiful at noon. Atakule is a tower that looks like a candied apple. It is very thin tower, and there is a sphere shaped restaurant top of it. Atakule is 135 meters high, so if you look at the top of it, you can see all of Ankara. Therefore, it is the symbol of Ankara. After that I would like to show my friend the Ataturk Forest Plantation at night.
The Ataturk Forest Plantation is a great place because you cannot find a forest like this in many big cities. At the past our leader Ataturk ordered his men to build a big plantation in Ankara. He was a forward looking statesman, and he knew that Ankara would be a crowded and big city. Thus, this plantation is a sight for sore eyes in this crowded city now. There is a zoo in the...
