On the dim dark day that keeps the world power held in the successful direction it should, was a historical day. One of the best battles of all time in WWII was “D-day”. D-day is one of the darkest days in ww2 history, when enemies invaded normandy, France caught hitler on his heels. Although enemies had given up lots of lives, they successfully defeated Germany and gain a good position. Before d-day America and Britain dropped paratroopers behind the enemies to ensure the joy the next day. The Germans were not ready to fight the battle that day. Over 100,000 soldiers swam ashore, and 11,700 paratroopers were dropped to secure Normandy Beach. Lots of sacrifices were made on the date of June 6,1944.
The morning of June 6, 1944 enemies invaded France and the largest assault in history took place. That morning of the invasion of Normandy, beaches in the area of Cotentin, France, were bombed with over 5,000 tons of bombs, destroying anti-invasion equipment and many areas. Following the bombed areas over 100,000 soldiers swam ashore, and 11,700 paratroopers were dropped to secure Normandy Beach. The enemies had no idea what was going to happen next, when the Higgins boats arrived lots of men were killed. The Allies sent waves of men to their deaths over 5000 boats were sent to fight. The allies had to go through hedgehogs, landmines, and enemy equipment even before seeing a German soldier. D-day was the first step in order to break up hitler and his army from power and to get rid the world of the tyrant.
June 6, was actually not when D-day happened. The first action would be the paratroopers from the American and Airborne Divisions who were scheduled to drop behind enemies. Over 5,000 ships were used to travel 175,00 troops across shore. Equipment and other things were also brought so once they landed they could aid them. On june 5th they had finished preparing. The night before paratroopers were sent out to take down Germany’s equipment for the following morning....
