Healing Hospital: A Daring Paradigm
The care and comfort provided to patients in the hospital has been affected by technological advancements. Technology seems to be consuming everyone’s life, even healthcare. Many technological devices have taken over the way healthcare providers provide care to their patients. Many healthcare providers are dependent on the advance devices such as monitors at the bedside, computer charting, wireless communication, electronic billing, and robots. The main thing the author desires to accomplish in this paper is inform the reader how the paradigm of a healing hospital might influence the author’s philosophy of caregiving. The author will describe the components of a healing hospital and their relationship to spirituality. The author will discuss the challenges of creating a healing environment in light of the barriers and complexities of the hospital environment. The author will include biblical aspects that supports the concept of a healing hospital.
Healing Hospital’s influence on the Author’s Philosophy of Caregiving
The author would be more conscious of the patient’s spirituality and focus more on the

holistic care she provided to her patients. The author would not just focus on the patient’s

physical health or disease. The author would try to convince the hospital to have mobile work

stations. That way she could be closer to her patients, therefore reducing patient injury. The

author will discuss the patient’s religious preference. Religion can help speed up the recovery of

the patient. A healing environment will help the author as well. The healing environment will

make the author more relaxed and able to provide exceptional healthcare to her patients
