I’ve got a Strange Disease

Texting and instant message are the new ways to talk to people for the new generation. For me it is hard to just text someone. I was raised in the generation were instead of just calling friends on the phone, we went over to their houses and talked face to face. We would go out of our homes and actually make contact with others of our population.
Another problem I find with texting it is so easy to lie to people, even if it is just a little white lie. One that you don’t think will get you into much trouble. Turn out to be a very big deal after you have to type it a few times or add details to make it seem more real. Sometimes it almost feels like you are living a virtual life. Almost as if nothing can happen to the “real” you just the virtual one. And if something should happen to you virtually you can just make up a new you! That is another thing with texting and instant messaging you can pretend to be anything and any one you want to be. Some people say that it is safer to meet people online. Some say it’snot as safe.
But the reality of life is that people need to have that interaction with others of our kind. We need to feel and be felt by people it helps to keep us sane. We are by nature social creatures and should go out and meet people face to face. No matter how scary it may seem to be. Putting yourself out there helps you to find out who you are as a person and what it is you need to change to make you a better you. We need to get out of our houses and experience our world around us. Talk to random people find. Find out what the guy sitting in the back of the class dressed in black is really all about. He may not have a face book page or a cell phone but that doesn’t make him any less interesting of a person it just means that he is not driven by technology.
