Every day we face difficult decisions. These choices are not only time consuming, but also require tremendous consideration before we can settle on a resolution that will best fit our lifestyle. When I am evaluating a situation or task I break it down into two sub-groups: the pros and cons of one part of the decision and the pros and cons of the other. By expressing my thoughts on paper I can have a better understanding of how I truly feel about the situation and therefore make a better decision. I am currently faced with the decision of whether to leave my current job (that I have fallen madly in love with) or to find a higher-paying job elsewhere. Through a long and vigorous process of weighing the pros and cons of both options I have decided that I will find work elsewhere.
Bath and Body Works, as well as many other well-known stores are owned by Limited Brands, which is an organization based on values. The organization has spent many years redefining their principles into a core set of values, which they now use as a moral compass to operate their business. As a company Bath and Body Works “aims to build a family of the world’s best fashion brands offering captivating customer experiences that drive long-term loyalty and deliver sustained growth for our shareholders (The Guide 2).” Bath and Body Works strive for excellence in all that they do. These strict values and mission statements have caused me to fall in love with the company. As an Associate of Bath and Body Work’s I depend on the company to maintain these values as they depend on me to uphold them. I have worked for Bath and Body Works for three months and have gained a great deal of real world job experience. Being exposed to the practices and methods of how a successful company runs their business has given me a better understanding of the importance of leadership.
