Don't worry if you don't understand it all, I only understand 80% of some American TV shows. With practice, just a little every week, you soon figure out what the new words mean, and eventually you'll be able to watch any programme or movie you like in English, with no problems.
While watching shows with words that you may not understand, while using a notebook and pen, write the word down (how you think it's spelled) and then find its correct spelling and find out what the word means
Watch Movies with Subtitles
If English is not your first language, consider watching movies that are in English, with subtitles in your native language. Another option is to watch movies in your native language, with English subtitles. Either of these methods will help you associate the English words and phrases with the corresponding words and phrases in your native language.

By the end of a movie you will certainly know a few extra words, understand some words you knew better
pause the movie and repeat a sentence you like and want to learn.
I think it's the best way to memorise and understand vocabulary as you hear and see the context in which certain vocabulary/ phrase is used.
I think it's a good way to improve your english skills watching movies with the original subtitle or without it. I've just started to use this method.

As you become more comfortable reading English, be sure to read things other than instructional materials. For example, reading books and news in English can really help you improve your English. It can be beneficial to choose topics in which you are especially interested, which not only will increase your motivation to read, you also will be more familiar with the subject and might be able to understand the material better.
