Abolitionism

Since the birth of our nation, we have exploited innocent people as slaves and have treated them with brutality that is beyond any human comprehension. Slavery often has been perceived as obvious, indispensable, and even justifiable. And despite its controversy, this combustible issue has always been silenced. Now, we the abolitionists and followers, people who passionately oppose slavery, demand an immediate abolition of slavery. Our stance is absolute and there will be no compromise. Unquestionably, slavery is a sin and is against our principles of republicanism and liberty. We firmly believe in the Declaration of Independence like all Americans do, and the document clearly states that, “all men are created equal, and they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” It is the Government’s and the People’s proper and moral duty to secure these rights, which cannot be achieved without the end of slavery, a complete violation of God’s law and our nation’s fundamental principles. Recently, the slavery issue has led to fierce political debates, riots, and sectional conflict among the representatives, which would separate the country further if it is not stopped. We suggest the solutions to slavery in the following:
First, we need to foster public condemnation of slavery by educating the general public the sinfulness of slavery. Using mass communication, the American Anti-Slaver Society will distribute literature on slavery and launch a campaign, which will inform people of the unrighteous nature of slavery. Once the public’s view on slavery is changed, we can get the support of the people and our goal will be accomplished more easily.
Second, before emancipation is achieved, we must assist the African American in fleeing from slavery. This cannot be done without the help of white people and free African Americans. It is necessary to further develop the Underground...
