The Truth about Abortion
Whether or not women should have the legal right to have an abortion or not has been a controversy for many years. Abortion has traditionally always meant either the intentional or unintentional expulsion of a preborn child from the uterus before the fetus has reached the age of viability. There are two ends of the spectrum when it comes to abortion. In some countries including the United States and Canada, abortion is legal until the moment of birth. This method includes the dilation and extraction method which is designed to kill the preborn child when the birth process is just about complete. On the other end of the spectrum, drugs are being more developed to have only one purpose which is to destroy the life of preborn children after the fertilization process and before the implantation process. There are only two incidents abortion should be right, either rape or molestation. Instead of having an abortion, women should put the child up for adoption if they do not want to keep them. Adoption would allow for families unable to have children fulfill their dreams. Abortion is killing a human being whether they are in or out of the womb and can cause many complications for a woman.
The controversy of when the child is “human” or not is clearly based on what doctors have determined over the years, whether everyone believes or not a fetus is still a “human.” Many believe that a fetus is not a child until birth, but in reality a fetus is a living organism. The mother is feeding the fetus through nutrients in her body, just like a child is fed through nutrients from food he or she eats. The fetus is alive in the human body from the day fertilization occurs. As the fetus grows, it obtains fingers, bones, skin, organs, etc. and become even more like a human outside the womb.
