Summary Chapter 1
The book “About a Boy” written by Nick Hornby is about two guys: Marcus and Will. The story takes place in London. Will lives there for a long period of time and Marcus just moved there with his mother. The story happens in 1993.
The first chapter is about Marcus and his mum. Marcus’s mum and dad don’t live together, but his mum got a boyfriend named Roger. In the beginning they split up, so she is now single. Marcus talks with his mum about Roger and thinks about something what they could do together. After that talk about the pizzas because they have ordered three but now Roger have leaved, so they want to share the third pizza.
While they wait for the pizza Marcus want to know why Roger and his mum split up. He had some funny ideas like: his mum got another boyfriend, and other ones. After Marcus thinks back when his mum and dad split up, about the new home in London, because they moved there a couple of weeks ago. He and his mum talk about the weeks they were in London and what they do. They go to the cinema and there they watch some films, but Marcus thinks they are boring.
After the pizza arrived they got a new topic it was about the pizza if it like the pizza in Cambridge where they come from. After this short conservation they watch TV, but none soap, because this would remind Marcus mum of her troubles, so they watch a natural program.
