Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809. Abraham Lincoln was a tall thin bearded man. He became the 16th president of the United States of America. He grew up in a log cabin and freed the slaves. He had many siblings and children and died in 1865. Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809. He had an older sister named Sarah and a brother named Thomas. His mother's name was Nancy and his father's name was Thomas. They lived in a one-room log cabin called knobs. Abraham's father couldn't read or write but his mother on the other hand was very intelligent and she could read and write. Abraham's father was a hard working man and his mother died in 1818 from an illness called milk sickness. Abraham's dad got a new wife named Sarah. Abraham's first job was to help build a flatbed boat for a man. He had to load it with barrels of provisions, and he had to sail it down the Mississippi River from Illinois to New Orleans. I don't really know what his other jobs were excepts his presidency which I will talk to you about later. On August 4, Abraham was elected as a representative to the Legislature. I don't know what state he was elected for though.

Abraham never actually went to collage. On November 4, 1842 Mary Todd and Abraham Lincoln got married. August 1, 1843 they had their first son named Robert Todd. They had a second son born in March 1846. Then in December 1849 they had a son named Eddie and two months later Eddie got sick and died. Then in 1853 they had their last son Thomas.

5 Abraham Lincoln was elected as President in November 1860 as a Republican. On January 1, 1863 Abraham set all the slaves free. One black person (I don't know his name) wrote Abraham a letter before all this saying thank you and that while he's in heaven all the angels will sing his praise...
