Academic integrity reflection paper
Academic integrity: Academic integrity governs the way in which you research and write while at University. It is founded on the principals of respect for knowledge, truth, scholarship and acting honestly. These principles and values are the foundation of academia. (The University of Newcastle, Australia) Academic integrity is very important in the way that individuals research, write papers and study in their day to day life; integrity is one of the most important principals in life. When you practice integrity you are taking ownership for all things that you do and write, everyone knows that it is original and your own, if it is not your own that they will know to whom it belongs to as you have to give the source credit. One example of academic integrity is quoting the source that you received the information from and not using it as your own, a second one is being able to site your source with the appropriate names where you received the information unless it is you own, the third example that I will provide you is to do your own work and not allow anyone to copy or quote you as themselves.
To reflect on integrity one would think it doesn’t really matter as long as they get the recognition that want for the work and/or words that they want to receive without giving credit where the credit to its originators.
