accountability

importance of keeping accountability of my rifle and how i should never go anywhere without it and it is always good practice to keep it within a arms distance at all times. if i was in any other situation than being on the pad at the MWR the consiquinces of forgeting my rifle could of been a lot worse. if i was to forget it in a combat situation i would have no way to defend myself or my fellow service members. Then i would have to live with that for the rest of my life. if the company had done one hundred percent accountibility the repercusion of my actions could have fallen back on my platoon sgt. and my squad leader and cause embarassment for the entire platoon and company. and that is not somthing i would want to have happen as a result of me being complacent. i never intented to leave my rifle at the MWR but good intentions sometimes pave the road to hell. and although it may have been a simple oversight, this simple oversight could have compounded into a massive issue. if Camp Liberty or any of the surrounding camps had come under attack instead of being able to link up with my fellow battle buddies and follow proceedure i would of halted that process would could of possibly cost some of my battle buddies thier lives or serious injury. the army gives us the M4 A1 carbine rifle to defend ourselfs if the situation arisies and i would not of been able to do that so inste
