We have the potential to help out people of all ages around the world. I feel that Adoption is a great way to help out mothers who cannot afford children, teenage mothers, and most importantly… the children. Adoption gives people a second chance. The mother’s giving up their children for adoption can get their lives in order before they bear another child. Also the children adopted will be placed into a loving family and live a better life than they would have with their birth parents. Children will never be placed in an adoptive family if the court doesn’t feel it is in the child’s best interest.
There are many different types of adoption. The most common ones are open adoption, closed adoption and semi-open adoption. Open adoption is when the child has the opportunity to develop a one-on-one relationship with his or her birth parents. Closed adoption is where the adoptive parents and the birth parents have not met, nor do they have intentions of the child coming in contact with their birth parents. Semi-open adoption is when a child is placed into an adoptive family and the adoptive parents will write letters and/or send pictures of the child growing up. The other types of adoption are: Fost-Adopt, Infant/Newborn, International, Waiting Child Adoption, Step Child Adoption, Older Child Adoption, Relative Adoption, Foster Child Adoption, Special Need Adoption, Military/Overseas Adoption, and lastly Adopting an Adult.
For some, financial reasons play a big part in adopting children. The costs of having a baby today are outrageous. Birth Mothers do a brave thing by acknowledging the reality that they will not be able to raise a child at this point in their life. Also young mothers may not be emotionally stable or ready to take care of a child, whether it is because of school, not having a stable family for the child, or financial reasons.
