Squirrel Island
In the Herrienna Forest, a group of about one hundred fox squirrels lived in the trees and in the burrows. These rodents had lived each day in a moderate climate with barely any predators to hide from and their main food source was berries and nuts that they collected from the fauna. However life would change for these squirrels changed as soon as the blizzard set in during the harsh winter. The snow was accompanied by hail and sleet, and the winds gusted so powerful that it could move a house. The squirrels sheltered themselves in the burrows as the destruction occurred, and reentered the surface after the sun rose the next day. The squirrels had seen all their homes destroyed as main of the trees were knocked over and barely any food to be found was scarce.
The squirrels decided that they could not adapt to this type of environment so they decided to relocate to an area with bountiful amount of food. The squirrels traveled a long distance away from home and after a few years of finding a perfect home, a hurricane swept through the area where the squirrels were. The hurricane blew the nomads into the ocean where these rodents were carried away by the currents.
The next thing the squirrels knew, they were on an island much similar to their own. There were five hills that surrounded the center of the island. The center had most of the plants with food on it and climbing over the hills would take a day or two for the squirrels to climb. The plants had enough food to last for the whole group, but the intellectual squirrels knew that it was not enough for the future when there would be more squirrels. The squirrels now had to find a new source for food, and when they stared out into the fish filled waters, they had found it. The bravest of the squirrels had risked their lives to try to catch fish for the others, and over time this became a part of life for the squirrels.
