Advantages and disadvantages of social networks

In the last 10 years social networks have become an important part of people’s lives. As any thing and process, they have not only many advantages but also some disadvantages which can sometimes overshadow the good things.
At the beginning I want to introduce you with, in my opinion, the biggest advantages of social networks. Firstly, it is much easier, cheaper and time-consuming communication. In the technology era it plays an important role because nothing is standing still, everything changes worldwide every second, so no one has much free time on such mundane but important thing as communication. Secondly, social networks are a good place where to find confederates, friends or even a consort. Joining special groups of people with similar interests, for example reading historical literature, watching horror films or cooking, helps people to learn a varied real-life experience and share with their own discoveries. Social networks can also help shy and unconfident people to start communication. There are even cases when such chatting and sending messages thru the Internet end up with marriage and happy cohabitation. Finally, social networks give a great opportunity to create a company’s page and advertise their product. Due to the possibility for users to share and comment these business pages, it is more likely to become more recognizable in a broader audience.
There are also some disadvantages in the use of social networks. Firstly, user’s recklessness may become dangerous. No one is protected from maniacs, hackers and simply bad people who consider social networks as the perfect place to find their victims. Secondly, posting negative comments and public disparagement have become a lifestyle for some individuals. I think that it degrades and disposes the society to think negatively.
