People are connected to each other around the entire world with the help of advanced internet technology also known as Web 2.0. Web 2.0 is the global spreading of innovative Web sites (Volonino, 2010). People use Web 2.0 to get information, or to communicate, transfer of files, entertainment, internet transaction, marketing, online education and social networking. From these eight major purpose majority of the people concern with social networking. Social network is a place where people create their own space, or home page, on which they are trying to do creativities such as posting pictures, videos, or music also share ideas (Volonino, 2010). The social network features are mostly related to Facebook. Facebook is the second largest social network in the world with more than 70 million active users. Facebook was launched in 2004 by a former Harvard student, Mark Zuckerberg (Volonino, 2010). Facebook was initially for collages and high school student but in 2006 it opens door for students who are 13 years old with a valid e-mail address. The lack of privacy controls in Facebook result many of the business to joint in, where it enables the business to open their pages in which they can conduct advertisements and promotions. The introduction of Facebook helps many of the business in the Pacific to sell their products to the users of the Facebook all around the world. That is both the business and the users of the Facebook are on advantage side of using Facebook instead of physical shopping. Therefore this dissertation will firstly, show how Web 2.0 technologies such as social networks changes business models with its impact on Pacific. Secondly how a Pacific Island company such as The Pink Window Creation users the Facebook to: market their products, attract their customers and how company prevent from the negative comments that are posted by the users.
