Against Abortion
When does life actually begin? Some people think that abortion starts at birth and that killing anything that has never had a breath of air is acceptable. Others think that life begins when the fetus develops a heartbeat, which could be in as little as eighteen to twenty-five days after conception. Personally I agree with the people who think that it is wrong!
Abortion defined by dictionary.com, is “the removal of an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy”. Some women use abortion as birth control. They had sex with some guy and were not responsible. We should take responsibility for our own actions. Statistics of all abortions in the United States show that: 1% is due to rape or incest, 6% occur because of potential health problems regarding the mother or child, and 93% occur because of social reasons. Four thousand abortions occur each day, that is one million four hundred and sixty thousand abortions per year.
Women getting pregnant need to take responsibility for their actions. There are always other options other than abortion. If looked at in a religious aspect, God gave the baby to you for a reason; you should not throw that away. The very small person inside has everything we have, including the right to live.
Overall, I personally think that abortion is an aweful thing and if your considering it, don't do it! It really is taking away a life that is not yours. Please check into programs like Planned Parenthood, or get your parents honest advice. Do not kill the little baby that is growing inside of you.
