Ahlume Makwezela

I plead for freedom to be who I am and do what I want. Afterall, I am here in this world to make my mark. I choose to be me and stay truthful to who I truly am, rather being who I am not. Today I am free and I can do whatever I desire. I have been victimised and stumbled upon. I consider myself a surviver and not a victim. I cannot make you love me but all I ask is you to accept me. If I'm not myself than who am I? We all have equal right and should be treated as one. We are all equal in God's eyes. I will climb high like a fireman to free my voice and be heard. I ama girl craving for freedom. I know that I am yours. You are like a ocean, And I am like your shores. You are like an endless wave. And I your waiting sand. And I will wait forever as you come & smooth my hand.I will wait forever, yet. You are a part of me.I hold you in my arms, while you. Come to me endlessly. I know that I am yI love you with a love that yearns. We are all equal in the fact that we are all different. We are all the same in the fact that we will never be the same. We are united by the reality that all colours and all cultures are distinct & individual. We are harmonious in the reality that we are all held to this earth by the same gravity. We don't share blood, but we share the air that keeps us alive. I will not blind myself and say that my white friend is not different from me. I will not blind myself. But my white guy friend is he as much as I am me. But my white friend is she as much as I am me.
