The incidents that lead to my conduct case was the fact that we had alcohol in our possession, which is a violation of University housing policies and a violation of the student code of conduct. My roommate had a bunch of people in our room drinking and preparing to go out for the night so there was alcohol on her desk and my friends and I had gotten sonic earlier so we had poured a small amount in our drink. Once my roommate and her friends left we were just sitting on the floor listening to music and having a girls night inn. We shouldn’t have even put any alcohol in our drinks in the first place because we are too young, and it is illegal at our age. This was my first time for me to even take a sip of alcohol and my roommate insisted it wasn’t going to “kill me.” I would never blame my roommate because I gave into the influence and decided to try it. This was harmful to my own safety because alcohol impairs your judgment and is a risk to my own well-being. If this same occasion occurred again I would definitely just resist the pressure of my roommate and continued to have a girls night with my friends and just watched movies and listened to music without the presence of any alcohol. I can have fun without alcohol and my roommate insisted that we would have a better night if we added alcohol, so stupidly I gave it a try, and I would never do that again because it isn’t even worth it.
Since this incident occurred before Christmas Break, I have been more aware of my surroundings and what sort of situations I have put myself in. I know our sanctions didn’t require us to tell our parents, but I did anyway because it was on my conscious. By telling them, I realized that those weren’t my typical actions and I not only disappointed my parents, but I disappointed myself too. In the future, I plan to resist alcohol because for one it is illegal for my age, and for two it could harm my own personal self as well as others. It is illegal for my age group for a reason,...
