Your mission:
Nominate an Entrepreneurial Leader for the 2014 Global Entrepreneurial Leader in Tourism Award (please note: this is a fictitious award)
Identify an entrepreneurial leader in tourism that you believe merits this award. Support your nomination with convincing evidence.
The award recognises the individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the tourism industry within the past five years and has demonstrated a high level of commitment and dedication to the growth and development of companies and individuals therein. The individual must have shown a pioneering spirit that has contributed towards the development of new / unique ideas that have had a significant economic, social and/or environmental impact. Descriptions of specific projects they have led as well as personal and business contributions they have made that represent leadership qualities must form part of the nomination submission.
Include the following information in your submission:
Name of the nominee
Background of the person
Achievements made in the tourism and/or related industries
Impact / influence that the person has had globally
Guidelines for Preparing a Nomination
The award is open to individuals who are engaged directly and indirectly in the tourism industry.
The award provides recognition for work conducted / completed or projects implemented within the past 5 years between January 2009 and May 2014.
Submissions must include specific examples that demonstrate how each of the criteria is met.
The nominees will be assessed using the following six criteria:
1. Entrepreneurial and leadership spirit
2. Innovation
3. Personal integrity and influence
4. Financial performance
5. Strategic vision
6. Global impact
Please submit your nominations AFTER the end of classes – between May 21 and 31, 2014 as per the instructions in the Sakai course website.
