Comparison of the Diary and Drama (Book and Movie)

This is an essay on a young girl that was stuck in a very horrible position. She was just a young girl and she couldn’t do anything because of the position she was in. I wouldn’t be able to do anything about it either. I will try to compare and contrast the diary that Anne Frank wrote and a drama that we saw in class.
I think that the diary and drama are similar because they are both about Anne Frank. Also the diary and drama both try to talk about the importance of Anne Frank. The importance of Anne Frank is huge in schools because I brought in a current events article that said the President of Iran denies even the Holocaust ever happening. Her diary is documentation of the events and an important piece of history. The Holocaust is an important event to remember because many Jews were killed and there is no way we can lose all of that history. History provides difficult lessons to us all.
In the diary it seems like you can get into Anne’s or one of the other annexer’s shoes. But in the drama we are used to more of the action-packed movies and expect that. When we watch this movie you seem to be expecting more and it is seen not totally from a single person’s view. I think that reading the book was better than the drama. Another reason that the drama was worse is because I knew the actors weren’t really in the same mood as Anne was in. Anne knew that she was in real danger. She actually lived it and wrote it. I really couldn’t be as scared as I was for Anne during the diary, versus the drama. It was too obvious what was going to happen next in the drama.
The play is different than the diary because in the play you could actually see the things happen and you could see the reactions and movements. But in the diary you had to just think of how the people reacted. Everything that you read in the diary was from the point of view of Anne. But in the play you could see the...
