Most people who are obsessed with their weight use different means to control weight. One of the dangerous ways to control weight is anorexia. Anorexia is well known as an eating disorder that is caused by the refusal of a human being to consume food. It is a disorder where an individual refrains from eating in order to lose weight. There are several reasons that can lead to anorexia and cause serious effects on teenagers.
Anorexia can happen because of different reasons. The most important reason is how the person is satisfied about his/her body image. Millions of teenagers want to look like celebrities and try losing weight by stop eating healthy food cause them to become bulimic. In my opinion, bulimia is a dangerous problem in all eating disorders because it happens when a person eats a lot of high calorie foods even with less quantity. Due to not being able to control anorexia and bulimia, it leads to health problems that treating it is more difficult than prevention. Some of these health problems are: malnutrition, cardiac failure, psychological issues, and even death.
To discuss this issue we should focus more on the causes and effects of anorexia. Mostly, eating disorders have serious mental and physical effects on people. According to the statistics of the international health association, anorexia is developed in majority of cases among youngsters because they do not have full control over their lives and usually experience numerous changes. The essential changes are in emotional and physical senses because these changes depend on the reactions that people show to teenagers. Media have adversely effects on teenagers by the huge number of advertisements that are published daily in all various media means. These ads show the illusion that especially affected females by what they see everyday which will raise their sense of beauty obsession. It is sad to say that the media has terrible influence in our daily lives.
