ANOVA and Nonparametric Test Summary
In the simulation, one out of ten projects has been delayed and the management of the company would like to know what is causing the delay. Delivering projects on time is one of the challenges that the company has been experiencing. The project managers are blaming the software engineers because of the decline in productivity. A quality assurance manager has been assigned to monitor two areas which are on time delivery of projects and client satisfaction. The head of the management team has requested to research the issue, make recommendations and to solve the issue at hand.
The quality assurance team was able to pinpoint the areas that required improvement by utilizing the ANOVA and Nonparametric test. The test helped point out statistically as to why the productivity and client satisfaction were low. After completing the test, the management is able to implement strategic measures to address and improve the areas recognized in the tests.
The simulation displayed tools which can be used to identify problems within the company’s process. “Variables can be measured and the variance calculated to determine the cause of the problems” (rEsource, 2008). Management will be able to make educated decision for continuous improvement of the company.
There are several analytical tools that the management is able to utilize in order to fail to reject or reject his or her hypothesis. In ANOVA test each population being studies has a normal distribution, the errors are random, independent of each other, and all of the population has the same variance. The Chi-square test, a nonparametric test, which can be used to determine if the population has a normal distribution. Another nonparametric test that the company is able to use is the...
