Application of Clinical Psychology
Introduction
Clinical psychology a specialized field that provides help for individuals and families that come from all spans of life, cultures, ethnic backgrounds and socioeconomic backgrounds. A clinical psychologist is there to help address behavioral and mental health issues. These mental and behavioral health issues include emotional, social and behavior maladjustment, they help with those that have disabilities and psychological problems to the most severe psychopathology. Assessment, intervention, consultation and research are all a part of clinical psychology. These things all help play a role in helping the therapist provide the best help for their clients. Clinical Psychology can be as unique as the individual who is dealing with issues. Take into consideration the case that is going to be discussed in this paper. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD. In this case we will be concentrating on the biological, psychological and social factors of the disorder and exploring what forms of intervention and plan of treatment will be the most help for the treatment of the disorder and how the to introduce the individual to the treatment.
CASE STUDY.
Tim is a 17-year-old high school junior. Tim is single and comes from a middle class Hispanic family. Tim and his family are members of the Roman Catholic church. Tim does not attend church on a regular basis. Tim was involved in accident that involved his good friend Ron and one other passenger that is not named. The three boys decided to leave school early without permission to go to the 7-11 to grab some snack foods rather than eat at school. They hoped to return before they got caught.
