By attending Appomattox Regional Governor’s School, I would like to gain skills and experiences that can benefit me in the future. These skills and experiences would include ones gained from any academic classes such as learning how to turn in work on time by having to do an assignment late for a class. These skills and experiences also include ones gained from my focus area, technology, such as learning how to use a certain software by familiarizing yourself with it. These new skills and experiences that I hope to gain should help me in college or career.
The academic classes that I would take at Appomattox would help me prepare for college classes and would be useful in any career. College requires you to put a lot of effort into classes in order to be successful. High school creates a transition in the work so that college would become easier to experience. Some classes in particular can help in certain careers. Specific skills that I would like to learn are general ones such as advanced math skills, knowledge of history, understanding science, and knowing both foreign and native languages. These different skills would be almost mandatory in a successful and respectable career.
Experiences that can prepare you for college are very important in High school. Some experiences associated with technology are familiarizing you with a certain type of software, learning how to manage electronic equipment, and creating new software using technology. Technology skills are so important for careers today and in the future because most of them require using it.
