Are Cell Phones Our New Best Friends?
Let's start by knowing what a cell phone is. A cellphone is any portable telephone which uses cellular network technology to make and receive calls. Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1876. In 1900, on December 23 on the outskirts of Washington, D.C., an inventor named Reginald Fessenden accomplished a remarkable feat: he made the first wireless telephone call. He was the first to transmit the human voice via radio waves, sending a signal from one radio tower to another. Soon after cell phones were invented, they became popular and necessary because they are portable, they are affordable, they help people communicate worldwide in a quick and easy way, and they provide entertainment for the users.
The first reason why cell phones became so popular is because they are portable. An excellent reason why cell phones are so useful and practical is because of their size. Cell phones are small devices and people can carry them wherever they like. Also, people have created carrying cases that can hold phones without bothering the user. People have made cases for phones that can also be wallets or card holders. With a cell phone people can do anything that they do with a computer and even with a television. People can create and edit documents, presentations, videos, send emails, search for information, watch television programs, series, or movies.
Another good reason for their popularity can be attributed to the fact that cell phones vary from a range of prices but most of them can be affordable to anyone. People can choose which cellphone is better for their needs, depending on their monetary availability or on any disability. Cell phones vary from a wide range of prices depending on functions, brands, and memory capacity. For example, the brand Nokia can manufacture cheaper cell phones than Apple.
