ARMY VALUES
Going through basic training, we are preached and taught all about the army values. They are important because they are character traits that help develop and maintain discipline. These values and the resulting discipline, cause soldiers to do the right thing and continue doing the right thing even when it is hard. As Non-Commissioned Officers, these traits are doubly important. We all know that actions speak louder than words. Your soldiers watch what you do as well as listen to what you say. You can’t just carry values around on your keychain; demonstrate them in all you do. Failure to follow all of the army values could cause catastrophic results and sometimes even be fatal. As soldiers, the lives of other people are often in our hands, its being able to follow the army values and morals that was taught to us in the beginning that makes all the difference.
 
LOYALTY
Bear true faith and allegiance to the US Constitution, the Army, your unit and other soldiers.
Often, we in the military train outside of our normal environment, we go through hardships and experiences together, which, in the end makes us closer and trust each other more. But, what does the word trust mean in this sense? Do you think your coworkers would take care of you if something happened? When we go to war, and when we are sworn into the military, a lot of confidence is put into us. That we will not betray those who work with us, that we are sworn to protect and those whose freedom we fight for. Being loyal is a lot more than just taking care of your battle buddy it’s also not abandoning your post until you are properly relieved. It’s not trying to get of a deployment because you don’t want to get shot. You signed up for this.
