Have you ever wanted to achieve something in your lifetime, which may be a long term or short term goal? If you don’t have goals set, what is the point of being alive? Having goals will allow you to push yourself to become better than everyone around you. In order to achieve this, you will need aspiration, the desire to achieve something great. These goals may be challenging and cause you stress, but do not give up or else you will end up in the same position as you started. If you stick to your goals until the end, you will look back and say, “I did something great”. Everyone has goals that they set in their lifetime in order to push themselves and I have some of my own.
At a very young age, I never set goals for myself because I did not really understand what it meant. Around the age of 13, I started to understand the concept of setting a goal and achieving that goal. My first goal that I set was to graduate from the 8th grade and to go onto high school. This goal was a goal that I knew I could reach and in the end, I accomplished it. If I did not have aspiration to be pushing me to do my homework and get good grades, I do not think I would be where I am today. The change between middle school and high school was hard but having people there for you really helped me. As a freshman in high school, I set a long term goal for me and that was to get above a 3.5 GPA in high school in order for me to be able to go to a decent college. As of right now, I am slightly below that and in order to achieve this goal I need to push myself through senior year and ace all my classes. In the future, I know I will have more goals that I will want to achieve and sometimes I won’t achieve them, but in the end I will not let that hold me back.
