This assignment follows on from assignments one and two and uses the same case material.
1. Using the investigation materials, produce a requirements specification in terms of a prioritised list of requirements for Parry’s. P5
2. In addition be creative and suggest alternative solutions that could be considered by Parry’s . M2
3. The design specification should include (unless otherwise indicated by your tutor) the following :
• ERD
• DATA DICTIONARY
• LOGICAL DFD’s FOR THE NEW SYSTEM.
• PROCESS DESCRIPTORS
• SCREEN DESIGNS
• REPORT LAYOUTS
4. On the basis of the requirements specification, independently generate and document a design specification. P6
5. Explain any constraints. M3
6. Carry out a cost benefit analysis on the suggested system. Keep in mind that there can be ‘soft’ benefits and ‘hard’ ones. Some of the ‘Soft’ benefits are less easily defined in terms of money, but often represent the most important reasons why the system needs to change. D1
7. To gain D2 you need to generate comprehensive design documentation independently. Your documentation throughout the assignment will enable you to demonstrate this. Evidence of your own personal research will also be required and this can be demonstrated with references throughout your assignment plus a comprehensive Bibliography. D2
