Atmospheric Pollution Carbon monoxide and smoke from wild fires Dust from natural sources, for example sandstorms in large deserted areas with little or no vegetation. Sulfur, ash particulates and chlorine emitted into the atmosphere from volcanic activity Methane, emitted by the digestion of food by animals Radom gas from radioactive decay within the Earth's crust. Living or anthropogenic factors include: Emissions of gases from mobile sources including vehicles Chemicals, dust and controlled burn practices in agriculture and forestry management Waste deposition in landfills Stationary Sources include smoke stacks of power plants, manufacturing facilities (factories) and waste incinerators, as well as furnaces and other types of fuel-burning heating devices Fumes from paint, hair spray, varnish, aerosol sprays and other solvents The burning of fossil fuels A suggested sustainability plan is outlined below demonstrating step by step on how both the individuals and the community can do more to prevent the causes of air pollution. In addition to the above I would suggest a dust control program to reduce the amount of dust created from construction and mining sites, also a bike system which would encourage alternative modes of transportation, promote physical activity, and reduce emissions and traffic congestion.
