Behind the Scenes in my Life
It was one twenty in the afternoon and I had just gotten out of school for senior release. Just like any afternoon my routine was as followed; meet my best friend Amanda in the parking lot and go with some other friends to swim at her house. Since both of our parents always paid for whatever we needed we never had to work. But once she turned the big one-eight her parents cut her off. At first it really didn’t matter because I still had money so I paid for whatever trip we would make or anything that we needed. But April was right around the corner and my parents kept telling me to enjoy what I had before it was all gone. See I was one of those snotty rich kids, which would soon see reality.
I’m Jorge E Hernandez-Caballero, and my journey began when I was born in April the eleventh of nineteen-nighty three in Mexico City, Mexico. See many people don’t believe me when I say I’m from Mexico since I speak English fluently. In my country if you come from money you go to private school and if you have a little more money you study in the states. When I was born my parents already had their lives and mine planned out. It didn’t take them long to take me to the U.S embassy and start my visa to be processed. When I was five months old my visa was finally stamped onto my passport. Once I turned eights months old my parents decided it was time to move to the states. We arrived in San Antonio in December of nineteen-nighty three; my parents always visited this city when they were younger because in their time San Antonio was the place mostly visited my many Mexican nationals. They always dreamt of living here, and their dream was finally coming true. We stayed in a hotel for about two weeks till my parents finally decided on which house they really wanted.
