BBC Report on Creationist Museum
Who or what is responsible for the creation of life and the species within it? Creationists tend to argue that God created world in six days and want equal status to Evolutionary science. In the eyes of a creationist in the beginning of time, less than 10,000 years ago all creatures were vegetarians. This belief leads them to think dinosaurs were around at the same time humans were because they were not tempted to eat humans due to human and animal meat not being appetizing. Replicas of dinosaurs and other creatures have been made exhibits at the museum to show the way life was thought to of been created by God.
While visiting the Grand Cannon you can find several posts of scientific findings and explanations as to how the Grand Canyon came about. Creationist will argue that it was not natural happenings that created this canyon. The Grand Canyon was created by the flood God created for Noah’s Ark. To Creationist the flood was and continuous to be science.
The creationist museum in Petersburg Kentucky displays all of these things. It is the biggest creationist museum in the United States. Ken Ham has set out to expose the bankruptcy of evolutionary ideas and enable Christians to defend their faith. The point of the museums is for creationist to raise awareness and spread the belief that the universe was created in six days by God not by evolution. Creationists believe that there is too much complexity in the world to have been created by natural causes.
“Life does not revolve around Darwin” is a statement made by a creationist. Darwin’s theory is a widely held notion that all life is related and has descended from a common ancestor. Creationists refer to this a Darwinism as a negative connotation. Although I do feel like God has played a role in the creation of the earth I support Darwin’s theory and believe that science has played a major role in how we have developed as a universe.
