You may have heard of many mergers and acquisitions in the news. Banks, drug companies, technology companies and airlines have all had mergers in recent years. When two companies merge, the culture clash may result in conflict. Appropriate employee communication might result in a successful merger. Inappropriate employer and employee communication might result in failure to the new organization.
Select a merger that is currently in process, or create your own merger of two known companies. Choose your merging companies carefully to ensure you may find enough information to complete this project. Assume your Learning Team is the management team in charge of integrating the two companies. Your Learning Team must develop a strategic communication plan to facilitate the merging process.
