I chose this business plan because I have always wanted to own and restore an old and historic bed and breakfast. I selected the plan for the Coach House Bed and Breakfast in Tybee Island, Georgia. The executive summary alone held my attention. I am going to find a lot of enjoyment in this SWOT analysis. I was interested to see just what I have learned in regards to opening a bed and breakfast.
We shall begin with strengths. The inn has already been in operation for three years under a different name. The partnership being created by the two owners indicates at least three years experience in the industry. They are not experts but they are not babes in the woods either. The business model is definitely well researched and organized. As you read the plan, it is easy to see the time and expertise that went into designing it. As there are only four inns on the island and the rest being short stay hotels, the Coach House has a unique opportunity to excel and become the premier inn of its kind on the island. They will offer amenities that one might not find at a hotel or like establishment.
Pralines on pillows.
A complimentary music CD for each room that the guest may keep (copy included in packet).
An extensive video and audio library for guest use.
CD stereo systems and VCRs in each room.
Starbucks coffee.
A variety of herbal teas.
Daily fresh-baked muffins and fresh fruit.
Links to other businesses and services on the island and the mainland.

The most interesting fact is that the in n has been undergoing improvements and renovations. During these past seasonal improvements, not all of the rooms were available. The inn was still able to show a profit. By following all of the aspects of the business plan, this inn could do exceptionally well in the near future and beyond. The...
