Being Seventeen And Unable To Read
I feel this essay topic is important and relevant because of the moral of the story. This topic relates to me and other people who have came across or know somebody who is mentally challenged. I feel like David Raymond wrote this essay for awareness. I feel that his message to people is to be kind to others, don’t judge, and don’t limit yourself. I feel he took time to share his experience because he wants people to take a look from his eyes. Some people make fun of other people who are different because they are insecure. Or maybe they wish they were different. I say this because why else would someone take time out there day to point out someone else flaws, other than to make them feel good about themselves. In my opinion it is stupid, because nobody should be the same as anyone else! Nobody should be worried about how the next person look and etc. Everyone has some kind of beauty in them. When I was younger I knew of a kid who was mentally challenged. He would get laughed at because he looked and talked different. I always felt bad that he would get laughed at, but I felt it wasn’t my business to say anything, because we weren’t friends or anything. I just knew of him and witnessed him getting picked on. When I look back I know that there are some things I could have done differently. I f was there now with the more mature mind state that I have now, I would have at least said something. I can only imagine how he felt. In conclusion I think it is wrong to laugh at people who are different and I do not condone it.
