After taking the Williams Institute Ethics Awareness Inventory self assessment and relating them to my own personal values, I can see how I might be able to help the Kudler Fine Foods organization. Kathy Kudler, who is the owner and founder of the Kudler Fine Foods stores, has her own personal values and beliefs. If she is going to make a better impact on the community and her business she is going to have to look for help on the outside and this is where I will be able to fill in those needed value gaps. Kathy can only take her company so far before she just cannot do anymore and she already hit that point when she expanded from her one store in La Jolla, California to two stores. The newest store sits in Del Mar, California and Kathy is having a hard time keeping that store afloat, but of course, she is trying to do it all by herself. Kathy needs to hire another person who will be able to take her company to the next level, someone who can delegate the daily duties to people without taking it personally and I know I can do that.

Profiling Values

The ethnical profile that I most closely align with is character, which in a nutshell, my perspective leans towards what it is good to be, rather than it is good to do. I believe that moral excellence should be achieved and look beyond an individual’s actions and into his or her character (University of Phoenix, 2009). This is what I consider should be true, if a person’s character is good then the actions that they do will be good as well. When speaking of business ethics, they cannot be a fantastic company that people look up to, unless they have moral excellence at the forefront. No one will care about whom you are and what your business stands for if you are not an honest business person.
