My name is Deanna Veltri and I will be entering my third year of study at McGill University in September 2011. I am currently enrolled as a full-time student and pursuing a degree in Political Science, Law and Society. At this time, I am hoping to obtain the University Representative position and become a member of the Queen’s-Blyth Promotional team. By attaining a position, I hope to extend my reach and establish new connections within the McGill community, secure an income to support my University education, and not only give myself the opportunity to travel, but extend this opportunity to McGill students of all ages and in all areas of study. Furthermore, my ideal living arrangements in Downtown Montreal introduces the possibility of reaching beyond McGill to Concordia University, another English-speaking Institution that is located moments away from McGill’s downtown campus. The Queen’s-Blyth travel programme has nothing short of a pristine reputation, giving its students the opportunity to not only complete a University credit, but also experience the sights, sounds and culture of countries worldwide. Though I have not had the pleasure of travelling specifically with Queen’s-Blyth internationally, I have both friends and family members who have taken advantage of the European and South American programmes in both High School and University. In my travel history, I have had the joy of visiting Belgium, France, England, Italy and Greece on a variety of occasions, as both a tourist and a student leader within my High School Community. I have visited every major province in Italy from Florence to the Southern coast of Calabria to meet my extended family. Consequently, I have proficient knowledge of all the arrangements that come with International Travel, as well as a variety of historical and modern attractions that must be visited by future Blyth students!
