Dorian Granados P.4 November 25, 2008 Book Report: Mere Christianity The theme for this book is Universal Knowledge of right and wrong on howGod exist. In which this means the wrong things can be the right things like how instead of stealing something you can just trade it for another good, or if you murder something you only do it in self-defense. That is saying that in order to break the Ten Commandments you have to have a reasonable explanation for breaking them. The topic that I would like to talk about is the Heaven and Hell through the author’s eyes. He is saying that we humans are trying to make our way into Heaven but during our life period we sort of create our own Hell. In which means we make the bad decisions in doing things we are not suppose to do. He talks about how we break the Ten Commandments all the times in our lives but we still try to stride for the better things. Another topic I thought that we should discuss is what people were like before they became Christians. He says that our personalities change vastly after becoming a Christian. That we apply new things to our lives daily. Did the author achieve his purpose in the book? Yes, I think that the author defended the religion very well by setting the standard answers to the certain questions people have to say about the religion.
