If I had the power to draft government legislation to control drugs, what would you do? I would adjust the punishment for minor drug possession chargers. The way I would do this is those charged with minor possession and wanted help would receive help at no cost to them. They would be required to attend drug rehab classes and stay at a facility to be monitored. Also during treatment would be required to do job searches. The reason why I would do this is I believe that it would free up some space and overcrowding in our jails and prisons. What are some of the issues I seen happening now and in the future? I see that proper action will be handed down to the sergeant. Also I believe that there will be a conflict between Officer Adams, the Sargent and myself.
Also if this goes public this will create problems for the Sargent in the eyes of the community. Another thing is how this will wreck his relationship with his wife and children. All of these are things the Sargent should have thought about before implying such things. I also believe that by sticking behind Officer Adams shows that she can trust me. Knowing she came to me with a problem and I helped her shows that.
If I had turned my back on her problem it would show that I Can’t be trust or maybe that I shouldn’t be. How are we spouse to work together if we can’t trust each other especially in law enforcement? Another thing is that most likely this officer will be suspending pending the investigation of the alleged charge.
Eventually the officer will either be asked to step down from his position or will be force d to resign due to shame. Now actions such as these can ruin what could have been a great cop’s future. Also not only did this bring shame to the officer but also the department.
