Unit 8 Branched Scenario

In this scenario I allowed my partner and best friend to sleep while we waited for calls to come in on the radio. He was awaked abruptly and drove his patrol car into a yellow object causing damage to his car. My partner is afraid he will be fired if he tells the truth so I have agreed to go tell the supervisor what happened with him.
This situation I feel will have the biggest impact on my professional life as I contributed to the accident happening. If I had not allowed Steve to go to sleep in the first place then this situation would not have happened. As I tell the supervisor of the story I may be fired or disciplined via counseling. Other professional effects may include other officers not wanting to associate with me because I was not willing to cover the situation up.
Personal effects will have more of a positive effect as people will know I do the right thing no matter the situation. This can really help you with friendships in life as people know they can count on you and trust you. I think the self esteem boost from doing the right thing will be good as well.
No matter what effects this takes at the end of the day the best part is that you did the right thing. Another thing to be proud of is that in this situation standing up for what is right no matter the consequences is something that anyone and everyone should appreciate.
