INTRODUCTION
Castle’s Family Restaurant is a family owned business located in northern California with eight locations. The restaurant has approximately 300-400 employees. The company has several recipes and meals that keep its customers coming back for more. The company motto is “Take Me Back to Mama’s Kitchen”.
All family owned businesses go through the decisions of how to operate the day to day challenges in keeping up with technology and the advances that come about.
BUSINESS ASSESSMENT
According to the given scenario Castle’s Family Restaurant is family owned with 300 plus employees. The company is operating with several of seasoned and not seasoned family members. Only one person acts as manager that oversees all eight locations. All employee information is created on an excel spreadsheet. Within the spreadsheets is all information regarding the company. The manager handles all the scheduling, recruiting hiring, and answers all employee related questions.
IDENTIFIED PROBLEMS
The Lovelady HRIS Consulting agency was able to identify several issues that can reduce and help operating manager Jay Morgan. Jay Morgan is dealing with keeping up with all employees personal records. Our goal will be to show Mr. Morgan how incorporating HRIS will eliminate the use of paper with Enhanced Efficiency/Improved Recordkeeping , upgrading an electronic user friendly system with Employee Self Service, and easy access to keeping inventory records with Inventory Management,
The agency main focus will be to implement HRIS function that will reduce the amount of time Mr. Morgan spends on traveling.
