One of the primary roles of a human resources manager is to strengthen the relationship between the employer and their employees. The human resource works to create a strategy in the working environment, and also determines what is necessary to meet the goals of both the employer and the employees. Before the creation of HRM roles, personnel departments were the individuals in charge of paying the employees, and also deal with human resource management. Eventually, personally administration because a business plan known as human resource management, as companies began hiring individuals to strategically manage personnel. From a strategic standpoint, the role of a human resource manager would be to “identify and resolve workplace issues, as well as how best to attract a diverse pool of applicants through effective recruitment and selection processes” (Mayhew, 2012, para. 6). Essentially, the creation of the HRM department was to improve employee relations, and at the same time utilizing the manpower to fulfill the objectives of the employer.
Human Resource Management(HRM) can be described as a job or set of requirements which purpose is to effectively and efficiently utilize a company’s employees in order to utilize the organization’s capital which includes the cash, buildings, and goods that is used to earn profits for the company. It is important to note, that Human Resource Management was done in an administrative vice strategic role that led to the successfulness of a company. A former CEO of General Electric, and also a man widely recognized as a management expert summarized HRM as “Get out of the parties and birthdays and enrollment forms….remember, HR is important in good times, however HR is defined in hard times” (Dias, 2012, p. 1.1).
