1. Analyze Jess’s role as manager of the Customer Engagement team using appropriate management and leadership theories.
Regarding to Frederick Taylor’s theory, which proposed that to increase business efficiency managers should analyzed work to determine the best method, the best tools, the characteristics of those most suitable to carry out the work and the training for those doing the work.
Jess Green has been chosen for her drive, enthusiasm, fresh thinking and clear ideas so it refers to the characteristic of those most suitable to carry out the work that Taylor make reference.
Furthermore, following the theory of Henry Mintzberg we see that he defined ten roles who’s necessarily should be developed by a person who is in charge of any organization.
The first one, interpersonal, refers to the relationship between internal and external people. The second one, informational, the manager plays coordination with all the superiors and subordinate to manage the things sophisticatedly. And the last one, decisional, the manager plays such an important part because is taking full responsibility to manage and decide the things.
The performance of these roles can be played at different times by the same manager and to different degrees depending on the level and the function of management.
Jess Green is in her first days so regarding the first role –interpersonal- she has to represent now the company and interact with peers and people outside the organization to gain favors......
