The Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (Chipotle) operates a chain of casual dining businesses and is well known in the United States, Canada, and England for its large burritos, tacos and made from an assembly line of fresh and natural ingredients. Chipotle was founded by Steve Ellis in 1993 and is based in Denver, Colorado. The name “Chipotle” is the Mexican Spanish word used for dried smoked Jalapeno chili peppers. (Chipotle.com/en-US)
As the CEO of Chipotle restaurant, I would like to share with you the strength of our establishment “The Code of Conduct”. Every organization must protect its business by making sure that employees do the right thing, the right way, at all times to prevent harm to the company. This is why we have established our code of conduct to govern employees, officers, and members of the Board of directors and we expect that all will reflect these standards daily when conducting business on the company’s behalf. As stated in our Code of Conduct updated April 2012, “Chipotle is committed to the highest standards of integrity in all of its activities and compliance with both the letter and the spirit of the law”. Our Code of Conduct includes the Integrity Statement, Anti-Discrimination, Harassment and Sexual Harassment Policy; It’s the Law, and Chipotle Confidential. (Chipotle, 2012)
My task here is to share with you the key areas of our Code of Conduct and its significance to the business. At Chipotle we conduct our day-to-day operation with an open-door policy to ensure transparency of fairness in our ethical and social responsibilities.
