Executive Summary

The purpose of this report is evaluate how effective the current environmental, ethical and social policies and practices within Tesco. As environmental reporting pulled more and more attention through the years, this report will briefly describe the matter of non-financial reporting. Because these reports are produced by companies their selves this report will analyse Tesco’s ‘Corporate Responsibility Review’ with help of the ‘UNEP five-stage model’ in order to see which stages this environmental report has reached.
Furthermore we will focus on sustainable production and products of Tesco whereas a deep look into its supply chain is necessary as Tesco’s core operation is not production but rather retailing which means ‘purchase’ and ‘selling’.
In the last point of this report we will gradually discover Tesco’s ‘CSR’ practices in which we mainly focus on how Tesco is taking responsibility towards communities and environment.
