describe how space is used to display goods in three retail outlets.

A mass market is a type of business which appeals to every different type of customers, this is where they sell products and services for all different target markets. An example of a mass market business is Debenhams. However a niche market is a business which only sells to their target audience, where customers only come in there for a reason to buy a specific product, for example Jackson's Corner. A niche market is a business where they provide products and services that only caters specific needs for their customers to keep them satisfied.

Debenhams is a good example of a mass market as this type of business sells many different wide range of products. They have many different kinds of customers who purchase from here, a mass market such as Debenhams has a good benefit as they sell many ranges where customers from all different ages, cultures would come to purchase goods. Debenham's have many advantages and disadvantages, they are able to maximise their income because as they are a mass market they are able to lower prices due to the economies scale. However the disadvantage of a mass market is that as they do a lot of advertising, this could be quite expensive as this might be to establish brands and also help keep the attention of the their brands to the customers and the competition of their competitors are high so good customer service and knowledge of products are very important for the business. Also another thing which is expensive for Debenhams is the development of all their products.
