Are immigrants in Canada a benefit, or a burden? They come to our beautiful country in hopes of receiving a better lifestyle, and receive more than what they have been hoping for, only its at our costs. We will have to pay more money just to maintain our way of life. Canada should have its immigration policies tightened, and accept only the immigrants that will benefit our lifestyle.
The more immigrants we as a country accept the more our wages will slowly decline. Because of rapid growth of cheap labor in the labor force, it drives down the cost of labor. By accepting more immigrants, yes, it will increase our profits by around $160,000,000, but at the same time it will decrease our (citizens) profits by around $152,000,000. The more immigrants or refugees we accept who are less educated than us, we are only costing ourselves more money each year. 80% of most immigrants and refugees who come into Canada are less educated than Canadian Citizens. Which in turn costs us more money yet to help the government sponsored immigrants. Those who are chosen by the government receive assistance to land in Canada, income assistance, and other social services for up to three years. All of which we, as Canadians are paying for.
Each new immigrant that is accepted into a community costs on average, each taxpaying household $15,378 throughout their lifetime. The phrase "The concept of humanitarian obligations is great, but charity and immigration don't mix" was coined during the consultation process and is completely correct. Everybody is a humanitarian to some extent but when our wages are dropping, and our jobs are disappearing, one may find it hard to be so generous. Yet the flow of immigrants is as strong now as ever, with no indications to it slowing in the years to come. If we as a country were to invest more stocks into age, education, and language for economic immigrants, we could reduce our countries welfare bill by $700,000,000 a year, and...
